What you can expect of yourself and the coaching experience
 

Just as if you were to read an exciting book, it is sometimes best not to know what exactly lies ahead of you. It is up to me to plan the steps to take you to those results, and it is up to us, together, to make sure necessary steps are taken and all necessary adjustments are made as we go along. Our sessions are used to debrief on past assignments, ask and answer questions, strategize, and set up future steps.

In my experience, almost every client will pass through periods where they feel completely invincible and will fly through all given assignments. There will also be other periods where clients will feel fearful, doubtful, tired, or even resentful of the process. I personally get excited to see all of these stages because they all form part of the necessary growth cycle. To you, some periods of coaching may feel great, and others you would rather do without. Overall, however, the growth curve will be positive. Many clients report some or all of the following: increased earnings, better use of time, better physical shape, better relationships, better health, more free time, and a significant increase in their sense of control and peace of mind.

 
Fees
 

For monthly programs, coaching fees are due at the beginning of the month. Your coaching fee includes 4 scheduled sessions or calls per month, each for 1 hour at a scheduled time; e-mails, if desired between sessions; and 5-10-minute calls as needed. The sessions will be held weekly, which is 4 times a month. When fees are agreed to and paid up-front, we can then focus our sessions on the real task at hand-getting you the results you want.
On-site or travel required: Additional charge of $ _________/month will apply.

 
How we will meet
 

We will meet by telephone for 1 hour, four times each month.  We will typically schedule our calls for the same time and day of the week for four weeks in a row. Weeks that we do not have scheduled calls are an excellent time for you to put extra time and effort into achieving your objectives.

 
Call Procedures
 

You will call me at the agreed-upon, scheduled time. You will call me at the prearranged phone number on the day and time scheduled. The allotted time will begin when the call is placed. Should the coach be placed on hold, this time will be counted as part of the allotted time. If you wish to connect with me in-between sessions with a challenge, a success, or an inquiry, I will make every attempt to respond to your call or e-mail within 24 hours on weekdays (Monday-Friday). Please limit these calls to 5-10 minutes. I'm happy to provide this extra level of service at no additional charge.

 
Initial Coaching Period
 

Although I do not make formal agreements regarding length of coaching with my clients, I recommend you commit to coaching for a minimum of three months. The benefits of coaching build over time. In order to make this experience as valuable as possible, I encourage you to make this commitment to yourself and to this program.

 
Completion of Assignments
 

It is up to you to complete assignments as given. Whenever possible, I would appreciate getting your assignment at least one day before our session so that I can go over it before we meet. The bottom line is that clients who diligently complete their assignments outside of our sessions get far more out of the coaching program. It is much easier to build a house on top of a solid foundation, so each assignment affects the next one. I also have more fun watching my clients get great results than average results!

 
*Nature of Relationship (Disclaimer)
 

The client has been made aware that the COACHING RELATIONSHIP IS IN NO WAY TO BE CONSIDERED OR CONSTRUED AS MEDICAL, LEGAL, OR PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING, OR ANY TYPE OF THERAPY . The client has also been made aware that coaching results cannot be guaranteed. The client agrees that he/she is entering into coaching with the understanding that the client is responsible for his/her own results. The client also agrees that coaching is only to provide an opinion, and the client will hold the coach free of all liability and responsibility for any adverse situations created as a direct or indirect result of a specific referral or advice given by the coach.

 
Communication
 

I will always reply to our communications within 48 hours (except when out of town or on holidays-I do my best to notify my clients of such dates). Even if no specific feedback is required or necessary, I will (at the very least) acknowledge the receipt of your communications.

 
Feedback
 

You should give and ask for feedback as much as possible. Let me know when something is working for you, as well as when something is not-the earlier the better. When you want specific or more in-depth feedback on something you are working on, please ask. Although telepathy is a somewhat necessary part of my work, direct feedback is the easiest way to ensure that you get what you need.

 
Problems/Conflicts
 

If I ever say or do anything that upsets you or doesn't feel right, please bring it to my attention so that we can resolve it as soon as possible. My objective is to have a coaching relationship that is fully open, honest, real, and trusting in our communication styles.

 
Non-judgemental Attitude
 

I am not here to judge right or wrong. My position is to coach you to get the life you want. As there may be times when you will share information that may make you vulnerable, I assure you that I will treat your choices and actions (past, present, or future) with respect.

 
Tenacity About Your Progress
 

As you have hired me to help you grow, I believe that some of the most valuable coaching I can deliver to you comes through the tough places you may be unwilling to visit on your own. Honest feedback; challenging questions; assignments designed to challenge your comfort zones; accountability to your commitments; and an occasional, usually gentle, and always caring, "kick in the behind," are sometimes necessary to get through the tough places.

 
Confidentiality
 

The coach recognizes that all information of a confidential manner may be relayed during either regular or coach-on-call sessions. The coach will not, at any time, either directly or indirectly, use this information for the coach's benefit or disclose said information to anyone else without specific client approval (excludes disclosure of illegal or unethical activities).

The exception to this also will be that, from time to time, I may use a situation from your coaching experience as an analogy in another client's session, or in a public setting such as a newsletter or a seminar. In this case, I will not use your name and will refer to the situation in such a way that you will not be identifiable to others.

It is important to the integrity and value of our coaching relationship that we are open and honest with each other. In this light, what we discuss will remain completely confidential. All of our interactions (conversations, e-mail, faxes) will remain strictly confidential, meaning that I will not share any information provided by you with anyone without your express consent.

 
Referrals
 

Many of my clients have come to me by referral. If our coaching has enabled you to generate the results you want in your life, I ask that you please share your coaching experience with others, and refer me to anyone you know who might be interested in what coaching has to offer. Many of my clients choose to refer my services to others. I like to ask for referrals outside of our coaching sessions so that the focus of our work is exclusively on you and the results you want. Whether you choose to refer people to me or not, I would like you to know how the referral process works. 

As you have experienced, I will first have a discussion with anyone who is interested in my services so that we can both determine if there is a good fit between their needs and my expertise. If there is a fit, they will become clients. If there isn't a good fit, I will do my best to offer your referral to a coach who will better fit your referral's needs and goals. In all cases, I do my best to place your referral, so feel free to refer anyone who is looking to improve their life or business, and I will make sure they get the right coach for their needs. Referrals form a substantial part of my practice, and they come from clients whose trust I have worked hard to build, so you can be assured that I will go out of my way to take good care of anyone you choose to refer.

 
Changes/Cancellations
 

I request that you make our scheduled coaching calls a priority. On the rare occasion when you need to reschedule, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. Also, if for some reason you have to change the day and time of our scheduled session, all changes must be made via telephone and the change has to be confirmed with me by fax or e-mail at least 24 hours in advance. Except in the case of an emergency, you will be charged for last-minute cancellations or missed calls.

 
Termination
 

This agreement is for 6 months and may be extended on a month-to-month basis following the initial 6 months, with the mutual agreement of both parties. Should the client or the coach determine that insufficient progress or cooperation exists after the initial 90-day period, either party may cancel this agreement without recourse, other than full payment for the period to date. Cancellations must be in writing and may be delivered by fax or e-mail. In the event of fees owed at the time of cancellation, full payment is due that day.
